CEO and Founder, Esa Blomberg

was born 1953 in  Turku, Finland and graduated 1981 a BSc in Telecommunications from Turku Technical Institute.

 

He started his career as a Project Engineer at MS-Audiotron in Helsinki, Finland delivering sound and lighting systems. Between 1983-1984 he worked as a Designer of  Audiovisual Systems in the largest consultant office of electrical engineering in Finland, Ins.tsto Tauno Nissinen Oy, Helsinki. He joined 1981 The Theatre Academy of Finland and was the first Head of the Institute for Light and Sound Design and founded the Centre for the Development of Theatre Technology (Teatek, later Teakon).

 

Mr. Blomberg worked in Yleisradio (the Finnish Broadcasting Company) from 1990 in many a development projects from virtual reality to interactive TV and digital TV and from Internet to digital media. From February 1999 to March 2000 he was the Development Manager of the Television Branch.

 

Mr. Blomberg has been playing an active part in development of digital television in Finland since autumn 1995 when he contributed to the report of the Ministry of Transport and Communications: ”The Strategy for Broadcasting - Radio and Television 2010”. He was appointed February 1997 the secretary of the Digital TV Expert Group of the Ministry of Transport and Communication. When the Digital TV Forum Finland established in June 1998 he was called for the Secretary General. Mr. Blomberg was appointed April 2000 as the Project Co-ordinator for the Digital Terrestrial Television League Finland. He has also taken part in the work of DVB and DigiTAG.

 

Mr. Esa Blomberg was employed by Andersen Consulting, later Accenture, Helsinki office as a Manager from 4.9.2000 to 31.12.2001. He has been working in Communications & High Tech Unit attaining skills in digital media area from various projects helping clients develop their business. He was the responsible consultant in two studies ordered by The Ministry of Transport and Communications.

 

Mr. Blomberg visited 2002 the Adulta Radio and Television Institute to help it’s launching as a Development Manager while consulting the Ministry of Transport and Communications as well as the Ministry of Education.

 

Mr. Esa Blomberg joined TietoEnator 1.1.2003 as a Director of Media Finland. Mr. Blomberg was the responsible consultant  when TietoEnator delivered in October 2003 a survey over the future of digital television technology ordered by The Ministry of Transport and Communications for the parliamentary Digital Television working group.

 

Mr. Blomberg was nominated 8.12.2003 a member for the Section of Telecommunication and Digital Television of The Information Society Programme set forth in the Government Programme and coordinated by a ministerial group led by Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen.
